University Communications uses print, broadcast, multimedia, social media and marketing channels to convey clear and consistent communication about the university’s achievements and the JSU experience. University Communications also supports academic and administrative departments in such areas as internal communications, event promotion, media relations, graphic design, photography, videography and social media.

New JSU logo
All university departments are urged to transition to the new JSU logo by Jan. 1, 2013. This logo replaces the “Flying J” logo. The athletic block logo remains in effect.
Before ordering materials, click here to familiarize yourself with the JSU Style Guide. The vendor you choose to order materials from must adhere to the standards in the JSU Style Guide.
Two local companies, Alliance Business Services and Quality Printing, have the design files to easily create business cards and stationery materials for JSU. Alliance Business Services has set up an online ordering site, which can be found here.
Requests for the new logo must be made via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please indicate in what format you need the logo (i.e., jpg, eps, pdf) and for what purpose you need the logo. For questions, call University Communications at 601-979-2272.

Eric Stringfellow, Interim Executive Director
Eric sets the vision and directs major communications initiatives that advance university goals, build brand awareness and increase support for the university. He oversees all departments within University Communications including Public Relations, Marketing, Athletic Media Relations, JSU TV, WJSU 88.5 FM and the university’s website.
Franshell Fort, Administrative Assistant
Franshell provides administrative support to the Executive Director of University Communications and supports the programs and staff in the communications area.
Germaine Williams, Administrative Assistant
Germaine provides administrative support to the Executive Director of University Communications and supports the programs of the department.
Tommiea P. King, Public Relations Manager
Tommiea directs public relations programs to create and maintain a favorable public image for the university. She also fields media questions, pitches stories to traditional and nontraditional media and finds alternative means to communicate the university’s messages and successes.
Jean Gordon Cook, Senior Editor
Jean leads production of the university’s flagship magazine, The Jacksonian, and writes/edits/produces content for the JSU news site, press releases, publications and internal/external communications. Jean also facilitates media coverage.
Spencer McClenty, New Media Coordinator
Spencer is responsible for web-based content creation, including the JSU Today email blast, and the development and implementation of social media strategies to support the university's public relations and marketing goals.
Pamela Berry-Johnson, Marketing Manager
Pamela leads marketing campaigns that clearly and consistently articulate the university’s brand. She guides the university’s marketing team, handles media buys and oversees acceptable printing standards and practices.
Jamea Adams-Ginyard, Assistant Marketing Manager
Jamea assists the marketing manager with implementing marketing plans for the university, with a particular focus on promoting and marketing JSU’s athletic events.
Shameka Reed, Marketing Consultant
Shameka assists University Communications with developing and implementing marketing plans.
Gina P. Carter-Simmers, General Manager, WJSU
Gina leads the day-to-day operations of the 24-hour broadcast station WJSU 88.5 FM, including personnel and fiscal management.
Christopher Brooks, Administrative Assistant/ Traffic Coordinator
Christopher provides administrative services to WJSU and generates traffic logs for the station. He schedules paid underwriting announcements, public service announcements and station promos.
Dale M. Morris, Station Engineer
Dale is responsible for technical operations at WJSU from the studio to the transmitter sit and for programs produced at WJSU.
Larissa Hale, Music Manager
Larissa acquires/selects new music from record labels to add to the station rotation and assist sin selecting national programs to add to the station lineup. She trains all on-air announcers and assists in every aspect of the station from news to engineering.
L.A. Warren, Community and Public Affairs Producer, WJSU-FM
While simultaneously serving as the news director, L.A. produces programming, provides news coverage, hosts local features and trains and supervises student announcers.
Keith Collins, JSU TV Station Manager
Keith manages station facility and operations. He produces and directs remote and studio productions and coordinates staff and student activities.
Antonio Smith, Assistant Production Manager
Antonio is the videographer, video editor, writer, producer, director, technical director, master control operator, floor director, graphics operator and consultant for various studio productions, field productions and marketing projects. He is the Executive Producer of "Direct Line" and serves as the contact person in the Production Manager's absence.
Gerard L. Howard, Webmaster
Gerard creates, maintains and manages the university’s web presence. He also provides training and technical assistance to university departments.
ATHLETIC MEDIA RELATIONS
Wesley Peterson, Manager/Athletic Media
Wesley oversees operations of the athletic media area, including oversight for football and men’s basketball. He coordinates media relations, maintains the department’s website, produces game day programs and media guides, covers game day events, compilies game and season statistics, and reports results to the NCAA, the conference, and media outlets. Wesley also assists with training and supervising student and game day staff.
