MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Office of University Communications is to maintain effective internal and external communications via print, broadcast and electronic media with emphasis on providing accurate and timely information to the public and to news media organizations.

We do this by communicating Jackson State University’s mission, goals, accomplishments, activities and programs to a diverse audience: students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, friends, the media, businesses, the government and the community.

Objectives:

• To communicate timely, accurate information about the University locally, nationally and internationally
  
• To promote special University events
  
• To promote the accomplishments of the University faculty, staff, students and athletics
  
• To assist the campus community with media relations
  
• To assist with the University’s Capital Campaign
